I guess I shouldn't post this after my previous post didn't go so well. The entire coin has a poor strike with the exception of the number 2 and the mint mark. Both are extremely bold and actually look re-stamped in my opinion. Other than the unfortunate scratch, the coin is a very nice one. Every time I think I know what I'm looking at something like this one pops up. :) Thanks for your input.

what is the weight?
It appears to be a 1982 Copper large date Denver minted coin.
Yes, it does appear that the 2 and MM are struck up a bit better - Why? not too sure.

Weight is 3.90 grams. I see two deep D's and two tails on the 2... The 2 and D are definitely stronger strikes than the rest of the coin..

The depth of the 198 on the die could be affected by grease. If grease were filling the deepest parts of the die, those could look weaker.

The 198 is affected by die polishing. Note it is small than normal. If it were affected by grease, then the digits would be larger in size on the date area. But it is a normal large date that was polished to remove die clashes. (Probably polished more than once from the way the devices are reduced in size) Reduction of the fields, removes the bases of the devices, thus only the polished ones will show this reduction. Sometimes just the '1' is affected:

More die polishing:

Extreme die polishing:

These are just die events. No premium for these, just an explanation on what happened.
