Ive saw on some sites that this year and mint have more value to collectors and other sites say no so I'm curious if there actually is any value to it that's worth putting any time or effort into selling or not. I have all mints in this year but figured I'd start here..any price range guesses you have would be very appreciated also but dont have to guess if not comfortable doing so. I'd say VG, has a modest premium because of its silver content.  to the CCF! |

to the CCF. The 35% silver content provides a small premium, say $1 or so. The coin is worn into low VG range and as such has no numismatic premium. If you have any other 1943-P Jefferson be sure to check them for the overdate variety. It's 1943/2 and that coin does have a numismatic premium even in worn state.

Might want to check the date for the 1943/2. I can't say that it is, but I do see enough to not say that it ain't.  |

Sorry if this is a dumb sounding or obvious question,which it prob is, but when you guys are talking about this other variety what exactly does that mean? What area and how is it different? Because I do have all dif mints like mentioned,including no mint mark as well as this P one which I thought seemed a little odd. Dont they normally either have P or dont? |

Jefferson nickels minted from late 1942 through 1945 contained 35% silver, to save nickel for war usage. These coins have a large mint mark (P,D, or S) on the reverse over the dome of Monticello. Circulated examples are worth at least their silver content, which at today's exchange rate is about ~$1.20.

There are 2 different 42s. The one with no P is a type 1, the one with a P over the Monticello is 35% silver like the rest of the War Nickels. The 43 over 2 is an over date, use the search tab for this one. |

Oh ok, I wasn't aware of that error. I dont think any of mine have it though. Its still really hard for me to notice the difference of coins like that. Might be easier if I saw in person what to look for. I have one coin that looks doubled to me but probably isn't lol..thanks for the info on it though!
