Hey guys in the past I had some difficulty finding half dollar boxes but was able to find one eventually here and there. I took a break from it but wanted to do it again. I called all my banks up around me and all I got was pure attitude from most and pure ignorance from the ones that were nice. Any help would be appreciated.

Do you have a bank account? Call them. Maybe look into opening a business account? John1

Don't come to Michigan for any change. I have two banks I bank with and they go ballistic on me when I ask for rolls. "No we don't have any." They are so terrible with giving out change. I see some people on the forum buy boxes. I just wish I could. Bank of America says no to everything I ask. Crap. Good luck though with your search.

While I typically don't bother with boxes, I do have decent luck getting my hands on rolls--including halves. Having said that, those halves are dumps from at lest a few silver searchers in my general area. I have more luck glancing at teller trays and eyeballing the loose halves they occasionally have on-hand. I can only speak to my experience--I have cordial relationships with a few tellers and a manager or two across three major banks. Makes roll acquisition stress free for all concerned. I take what I get with a smile and a thankyou.
Good luck out there!

I had to go in person to two credit unions yesterday so I asked for a few rolls at both of them. The first one said they only had quarters, but the poor teller had to wait for a manager to let him in the vault, and the line was getting long so I told him to forget it. The 2nd did have ONE roll of each type of coin available. I've heard that if you call and ask them to order a box for you some branches of this credit union will do so—might also be true with banks.
I watch coin roll hunting videos on Youtube when I'm bored sometimes, and one guy was talking about how to get boxes, and he said one reason banks don't like to do this is they do not want you bringing the coins back to them after you've searched them. He suggested finding a "dump" bank that has a counting machine and taking them there, and making sure the bank that orders them for you knows you won't bring them back.

not really expriencing too much trouble ordering coins in my local area, just not at bank of america though. For some unknown reason they are just extremely unwilling to give out coins of any kind when I can just go next doors to get a few boxes.

My bank told me they would be happy to order anything I wanted. It helps if you have accounts with them.

From my experience, having an account with the bank is key. When I crossed the border I used to be able to go into most banks and get at least some rolls. Not anymore. I got three quarter rolls from one teller who mentioned a couple times that he wasn't really supposed to do this, as I didn't have an account. A couple other banks told me there was a national coin shortage (pretty sure that's baloney). I have to try and open an account at a bank that won't charge me crazy monthly fees. I miss getting U.S. coin rolls!

I usually just go through banks. But I go to smaller branches that order them from money vaults like from Chicago. I use 2 banks to order half dollar boxes. I just give them. Plenty of advance notice, place an order and hope they remember to order. Most of the time they are great, friendly etc. I was able to build a rapport with them since for my job I was in everyday. Eventually I asked if I could order stuff for myself and they were okay with it.
The other bank I have an account with. I just always try to be respectful, if they forget to order then oh well I just ask if they can place another order but I don't get upset with them as they are providing a service they don't technically have to.
I'd try local branches, bigger branches in the area might roll their own coins from local sources which I find almost all the time is presearched coins so no silver no errors etc

I am in Canada and have account with a bank which have branches in US from more then 30 years. I never had problems to has rolls or bags. I go and order and three or four days after I have. The trick it is to have account which made them to make profit. I use different accounts as normal, Us account or the Investor. I pay always the fees for Us to Can, like this they are happy and me never I loose from the point of view of collectable value booking. I had also one or two time very old bags of quarters, halves and also dollars.

At my work they won't even give us a $25 box of pennies. They are stingy on quarter rolls as well.
