I enjoy collecting any world silver coins that are crown / dollar size with my favorite being reales & francs. And I would love to start a Philippines type set if that counts.
I've been collecting for a couple years... Favorite Coin's are Standing Liberty quarters, Working on my type set | Coffee, Corvettes, Coins & the CCF what could be better?

U S A! U S A!

But I do have a growing "dark side" collection, so to be honest I am an international collector.

Space in the poll does not allow more reply voting options, but please choose your main are of interest and the closest geographical location.

Like Antarctica would be a part of Oceania I would think more so than South America , imho ....

I imagine Russia would qualify as "Euro Asia" here...

My other major interests are mostly in Europe, in Asia, or split between Europe and Asia, so this does seem to be the most correct answer. USA has nice coins but I already have most of the common pre-2000 types and everything else tends to be way above my budget.

(The above is relative to my experiences in Moscow. Looking forward to some day seeing what Israeli coin shops have to offer.)

Wouldn't Portugal be considered part of "Western Europe"?

I like buying Prussia 20 Mark gold. Not for collector value, but for bullion. They can be a bit difficult to find, but they don't command a big premium to gold value.

I collect whole world, ancient mediaeval and modern, with a primary goal of "one from every country that has ever issued coins". But I do have some "favourites". I was born in Canada, so that's one country I am actively pursuing above others for at least a complete type collection and so that's the one I voted for. Living in Australia for almost my entire life, I of course have a large Australian collection, but that's mostly by default, having inherited a couple of mostly-complete collections. New Zealand, Britain, the USA, Germany and Japan are also strongly over-represented, mainly because I've either visited there myself or lots of friends/family have. Singapore and Thailand are also strong, because those are countries that people coming to Australia from Europe usually stop over at. The country that's most strongly represented despite never having been there nor had friends/family visit is France, and that's mainly because of its long and complex numismatic history.

US, but intrigued by UK if not a little intimidated by the depth of coin history.

Ouch!
I voted Western Europe, then realized my collection actually has more coins from Eastern Europe, but I was not allowed to edit my poll choice.

I would put most issuers south of the Alps in "Southern Europe" since that is one of the choices. So, Iberia, Italy, Greece would normally be considered Southern Europe.

Issuers south of Alps that wound up in France might be considered Western Europe.

I have gotten into world coins the last couple of years. I particularly like crown sized silver coins. http://goccf.com/t/415731
