Have collected for a long time but just recently started roll hunts. This being my fourth box of pennies - with only 7 wheaties from the other 3 - I'm a bit shocked. I'm guessing I might of been the recipient of someone's CoinStar dump. Have not even flipped the rolls over yet. See one 195X so I have a 1in10 chance of doubling prior Wheatie counts just on ends. Kind of nervous :-)

I surely will. In the meantime I couldn't help myself - flipped rolls - and 6 more wheatie ends. I like statistics right now

Looks like fun ahead. Sveral years ago I picked up 10 rolls of cents at a bank--7 of the 10 were solid wheat cents. Someone had dumped a portion of a hoard. No more wheats at that bank, sadly. Was a blast while it lasted.

Ok, wow. Fun ahead for sure - definately someone dumped their jars. I opened one roll with wheats on both ends. Total count, 21 of 50 are wheat. A 1916, a 1918 in XF, 6 1930's, 2 1940's, and the rest 50's.

Going to take my time and enjoy this box, not likely to happen again.

Never really timed it, I'd say I finish a box in 10 days. Usually crack open 4 or 5 rolls at a time which I'd guess is 30-45 minutes. Have my key date cheat sheet open and 7inch microscope which lets things flow quickly. Loupe would be a pain.

You've definitely got an accumulation dump there. Very well done and welcome to CCF!

Quick Update
Hoard dump for sure, probably head back to bank tomorrow and ask teller to take another peek for other boxes. Their boxes have slots so you can see ends on one side.

40 rolls opened and sorted, 390 wheats. No error/key checks yet beyond obvious. Best roll was 39 wheats
Rough tally:
- 1910's - 30 +- (Bunch of 1914 but nope, all P)
- 1920's - 8 (nada on 22)
- 1930's - 50 +-
- 1940's - 100 +-
- Rest are 50's

6 of the 50's are MS-level

Sadly I think all was picked clean already. Total wheats was 525 in box. Odds would have been in my favor of hitting at least 1 or 2 scarce dates but nothing.

Got 1 1956 D RPM and 7 uncirculated 50's (which must have been regular sorts).

1910's - 49 (14 where 1914 P)
1920's - 12
1930's - 73
1940's - 82
Rest 50's

Happy Hunting
