Saw this online and these are the pictures the seller provided, too me it looks kinda like some of the Chinese casts with the toning and pitting on the eagles face, but looking at it more and more the details seem pretty good, also the 8's look add they look to fat to me.

Has the look of a cast Chinese fake!
Colour looks way off !
These late date 1879 to 1890 Seated halves
are quite scarce , but when found usually
Have a very pleasing , often Prooflike appearance to them .
Personally I want them only from a reputable
seller in a verifiable Holder .

I would never buy this raw. Dark, leaden appearance is almost unknown for issues of this period.

This is a fake 1888, this reverse is a type 1 and a true 1888 only has a type 2 reverse. The "1" in the date is not correct as a real 1 has a flat serif and not one pointing down.
