I was examining my "junk silver" and noticed a 1928-S Standing Liberty quarter. According to my 2021 Red Book, there are large and small varieties of the 'S' mint mark. I'm certain that this is a large S. Aside from the mention in the Red Book that large and small varieties exist, I cannot find anything regarding the number of large vs. small mint marks, or the value of large vs. small mint marks.

Does anyone have any ideas on where I can find this information?

Thanks for any help you can provide.

No , but I wouldn't exactly call that coin junk . Would make a nice hole filler for a starter set .

Yeah, I realized this DOES NOT belong in my junk pile, that's why I'm trying to find some info on this.

NGC says the large S is only slightly scarcer than the small S.
