It is a broken post or called die chip, not consider as an error.

Die chip for sure, not seeing any evident Die Deterioration.

On a broken post, the devices would have to be closed. On Lincoln cents, None of the 9 or 6 are closed on them. So this is a die chip. (Not a post issue)
'8' can have a broken post:

There is quite a difference between Die Deterioration and a clipped die error. Your coin exhibits neither. *** Edited by the Staff. Please lay off with the snarky comments ***

You have a die chip that has attached itself to the 9 in the date.

Thankyou, I am filing it under die chip for my collection. I am going to hang it on my wall. With the others. Is this not the correct place to post Varietys? Merc? Why did you not inform me in time, so that I could have changed the headline?

@ 279773: This it is a good place. Is just you do not have a variety. It is just a Die event which it is not an error, nor variety. You has a coins done with the old way to produce the Dies (mean from the Master Hub till Working Die) and here is no signs of the aging Die.

second: Die Chips except the speculators it is not an error, and the Die Deterioration is just a normal Mint production. Old car has Mechanical deteriorations and is normal, same for the coins

Which car would be more valuable? A car with an impression of the town bums knuckles, in the door? Or a car with knuckle impressions done by Elvis Pressly?
