Could this be an actual die clash or just someone stamping one coin on another coin? It seems backwards. *** Edited by Staff to Add Year / Mintmark / Denomination to Title. Titles are Important! ***

What other coin are you seeing? I'd say damage.
ETA: die clashes look very different. Use the search bar to find some examples on cents to compare to yours and know what to look for.

It's the only photo I found, I'm wanting to buy it but want to make sure it's legit. I looked for info and can find nothing that looks like this one.

Die clashes cause a depression on the die, which results in a raised mark on the coin, usually in the fields. So that mark isn't a die clash. If it's incuse on the coin (and not raised), it's most likely damage, although sometimes a strike through can look like that.

Looks like PMD to me. Type die clash in the search box upper left of page. John1

I suggest not buying it. It looks like damage but of course that is just my opinion.

Coin transfer from another coin. The only areas to be affected by a clash would be on the fields. Outsides of both dies are are the fields. The devices are deeper into the die. So those areas would not be affected by a clash. Just outlines of the center design and the incuse devices will afftect the dies, then the coins are struck with altered dies. An obverse clash would affect the fields on this area. Reverse would look like this: CoopHome: What do Wheat cent die clashes look like on the obverse of the coins? the outlines of the fields and some devices would be seen on the field areas only. Incuse marks on the tops of devices are coin transfers from other coins.

Definitely pass on this cent with a manufactured "error" @roam. This coin is worth face value.

I always try to tell what I see on your coin. So that you will then see what I see. Best way to give an answer is to teach as you go. That is my motto.
