I'm just starting to pick out "errors" and varieties on coins myself. I came across this one and was wondering if this was just simple finning on the obv/rev or something else. The reverse has uniform denting around the outside running across the the bottom letters of One Cent. I took a couple scans and photos I've included here Not sure if this is from the minting process and related to the finning or something from circulation. Thanks for any help with this.
Am I just making myself see stuff or does anyone see the faint characters (arrow pointing to one that looks like a "S" or "5")? Also noticing the parallel textured lines on the surface. The one indentation sure looks like the edge of another coin...perhaps the dime you mentioned. See what you think..
to the CCF Be mindful of Pareidolia. You can see anything you want to see if you look at it long enough. Rev is damage. Both obv and rev are slightly off center, not enough to command a premium.
