Poll Question
Hello there,

I assume this piece is genuine? Before I part my money for it. Appreciate inputs very much from all of you.

1904-Hong-Kong-50¢-Genuineness?

1904-Hong-Kong-50¢-Genuineness?

1904-Hong-Kong-50¢-Genuineness?

He only has a kitchen scale without decimal points which says 13g.
1904-Hong-Kong-50¢-Genuineness?
I will weigh with my scale upon getting hold of the coin. Presuming the weight meets the numista spec of 13.5g, and base on the photos shown. This is genuine or not?

Best regards and thanks in advance.

Coin looks to be genuine, but an explanation has to be found for the low? weight.
Kitchen scale not accurate enough.
KM#15 indicates a weight of 13.58 grams, .800 fine
I see a flatness in the rim over 'ON' of 'HONGONG'
Need to see a picture of the rim at that point.

I suspect that this coin may? have had a loop soldered on at that location,
later filed off.
-It could? be a damaged coin and not worth much over silver value only.
If the seller won't supply a pic of that area, then don't buy it.

In NO part of the galaxy in the year 2022 is an AU Hong Kong Edw. VII 50c with at worst a slight mount mark (not really seeing this at all, but just for sake of argument) worth not much over melt...

Coin looks genuine to my eyes, some luster... perhaps a wipe spot at the "&" area (?), though that could just be the lighting (I myself would want to verify that). That weight from that type of scale doesn't prove/disprove anything. Seeing some high grade auction examples with weight exactly as prescribed (13.5_), but the scale could be just off and/or the piece could just a tick below in the 13.4_ g range.

I voted genuine, the lettering and details appears sharp enough, if you can confirm weight using a digital scale that would be better.

I'd like to think it's genuine but the brightness of the coin bothers me.
