Or at least that is what it looks like when you consider the total only. I spent $1,600 (USD) on 27 Dansco albums, and $561 for the slip cases. but if you add all the item up (52 total items - albums and slipcases) and average it all out, I only paid an average of 41.50 per item. which just about right on the mark. I still need to buy the 'Liberty Walking half dollar album, but all the albums I own are cull and either complete or just shy of it missing only a few very expensive Key coins, which I'm slowly getting. (very slowly)

John are you out of your mind ? Think of all the nice coins you could have bought with all that money . This is what I use for my coin sets , costs maybe $25 for 80% of all my coins . 3-ring Loose leaf books with PVC free plastic pages .

Not really, not when yo consider that these were bought over a long timespan of years. Now If I were to buy all the albums at once - then I would have bought a few coins instead. But I like the Albums, and they look good in the library I'm building. I use these albums as a quick reference library too.

I also have a 3-ring binder for all my 2x2's and extra coins.

Congrats John! You will definately have the nicest looking collection of coins EVER. To make a faulty analogy in using all DANSCO to house them, it might be akin to the effect if you drove up in a limited production day glo red Maserati that made every other car look like a clunker. If you receive a personalized Christmas and Birthday Thank You card from Dansco however, you might be getting too many

Wait - you only buy the albums, not the coins? Is that right?

Congrats! One day I'll switch over to Dansco for my sets but I'm a mishmash of lighthouse, Dansco, Whitman and Littleton, in some I like the layout in the others more than Dansco.

My collection is much more diverse, ancient to modern - about 1600 coins. So 2x2's in archive quality pages are really the only way to go for me.
In five decades of collecting I only have 5x 4 ring binders, 17 pages in each. The binders cost me zilch, because they are all trade sample binders that were thrown out as rubbish.
Comes in handy to have friends who have a business in the building products industry.
Nevertheless, with bit of luck, similar binders can be bought new in office supplies stores.

That is a lot of 2x2's. All those coins in only 5 binders - they must be fairly heavy..

Well, glad to see I'm not the only one who gets a little carried away. I currently have 95 Dansco albums and 25 three ring binders. No, they are not all completely filled.
