Full coin photo front and back and cropped before posting as well as a close up of the edge by the clip and a close up of the ends of the clip on the front of the coin and back of the coin.

Weakness on the reverse letters tells me this is the real deal. The planchet was cut over the edge of the stock metal, thus the missing area on the coin. It is called a "Straight Clip." (Clipped over the edge of the stock)

This looks "clipped" to me. Uniform edge, minor roll back of metal on the surface from the heat. I can't really see the surface of the cut.
