Guys, help me out here, please. Found this Lincoln that has what looks to be a spider web. I did use acetone attempting to clean, but it did not come off. Thanks, in advance.

Cloth on top of coin then substance like coke or coffee spilled on cloth?

Suggest a long soak in 100% acetone--might remove the feature, or at least reduce it considerably.

Environmental in nature. Whatever the item was in contact with the coin altered the metal itself on points of contact which is why acetone would not remove it. It's integral.

Without seeing both sides I cannot really say. I have a Quarter similar, but it is both sides. I think it fell on the floor at the mint and someone picked it up with a cloth or paper towel. Just me though
