I do believe this has an old polishing and tried using photograde but their pics are all over the place with SLQer's, so what do y'all think? I would agree it looks polished or cleaned at one point. I'm at xf Details.
I've been collecting for a couple years... Favorite Coin's are Standing Liberty quarters, Working on my type set | Coffee, Corvettes, Coins & the CCF what could be better?

Enlarged the image but it wasn't sharp enough for me to be able to tell if it's the overdate. Can you post a larger, clearer picture of the date and mintmark if available?

Was able to enlarge from you original pictures. Still difficult to see if it's the overdate.

 EF-40 Details ,cleaned and polished . The top of the 8 on the left side is straight up and down not curved . Looks like a possible overdate 1918-S over 7 .

Without better photos I dont think this is a 1918/17 The bottom 8 doesn't have a definite line through it at a proper angle nor do I see a die clash next to liberties right knee.

Blew up the 8 in the add'l picture provided. Frankly the 8 in the date looks pretty beat up for a coin that has the exposed date so prominently struck up.

Think this third image is the best one you provided and unfortunately I don't see signs of the overdate.

the yellow tone to your photos are not helping. can you retake using natural lighting. doesn't look like overdate. I think its just wear or polishing that flattened parts of the date
