Something looks odd, on the rim near the date.

It does look odd, but the smeared metal means this is a rim bruise rather than a clip.

Is it not a folded over rim perhaps? The scragly part of the rim is pressed superbly

Nope. The rim should be on the outside edge of the design. It was damaged. It probably was the looser on a coin toss. (When it hit the pavement)

On either side of the foldover you will notice the collar lines are impeeded. Due to an over hanging feeder finger, these areas have an inclined rim, so that would be good evidence to support my hypothesis Even the healthy looking rim has an inclined collar under it. I washed this coin twice for 30 seconds with panteen for its new photos. Also I will 2 by 2 this coin.

No need for extra photos, you can tell from the first picture that it is PMD

Well thats why I did a panteen experiment on the coin, too, to see what effect it would have on a coin. I like the results

Now I'm really confused. You still think this is a legit error coin, but you shampooed it twice?

Wow, you shampoo (panthenol) two times. Yes the hairs and feathers after those years of circulation need a deep clean. What you think about some toothpaste (Armstrong) for the mouth of president and the beck of the eagle? Just an idea of a scientist also.
