I have been trying to figure out the VAM on this Morgan. I'm thinking VAM-35, but I'm not totally sure about that. Any help will be appreciated! I can supply any photos that may be needed.

I don't see the doubling on the L in Liberty.

There seems to be something in the R of Liberty (could be a hit)

I do see some doubling on the Date (7?)

I believe you nailed it. Sometimes, you have to adjust your light source to see the doubling in "LIBERTY." Also, yours may be a little later die state when the doubling was wearing away. If you will look at VAM-21 and VAM-21B, you can get an idea about the die progression - not sure why they called this one a slanted date and moved it into a different number progression.

One note - I'm not a great VAMmer. There are people who are much better at this on the forum, but I haven't seen them post in quite a while.

I too believe you have nailed it, HumblePie and that Bump111 explained it well. LIBERTY looks much thinner on yours, in my opinion, which leads me to believe it was abraded and polished, in this area and the doubling is tougher to see, if at all. There are also die scratches in your LIBERTY, I don't see in the listing. On your obverse, full coin shot, you can see much more deterioration around the perimeter of the coin, which also leads to it being a later die stage, you can see it well, at PLU, in comparison to the two full coin shots, in the listing. So yours looks to be a LDS version of VAM-35 and maybe worth sending in to have attributed, for either a later die stage or maybe even new listing.

Nice work and pics!

Thanks for taking the time to look at it!

I would be willing to send the coin to whomever it would need to go to. I'm fairly new to the Vamworld, so I don't know that process at all.

You definitely have the knack for VAMming! You do a very nice job on your pics, too.

Here is a link for what and who to submit to. http://ec2-13-58-222-16.us-east-2.c...ie_Varieties

Here is a link that shows links for who will slab a verified VAM. The first link is the most cost effective and John does a really nice job but is not sealed, like your TPG's do. http://ec2-13-58-222-16.us-east-2.c...ion_services

I heard that if you have a VAM that doesn't completely match any known numbers or yours is a little bit different from a known one you can pay the fees and get your own number established. PCGS does this.

I use these items.

Camera scope

6 Inch Extension pole you will need to take photos of larger coins.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B...e=UTF8&psc=1

Lamp I use for photos. I place it behind my scope on a box, so it is raised over my scope.

Small "fill light" that I use for close-ups. (A must have)

All for under $175. Great entry level for getting decent results.

All that is needed after getting those items is practice, practice, practice.

I hope this helps, Good luck!
