Guess the grade.....off to PCGS tomorrow (January 13th). I am struggling to find any marks at all. There is a darker toning spot on the obverse by M in AMERICA. Coin really looks good in hand. All original! Thanks!

Don't see any wear. Luster is fairly strong, strike is solid, color looks original, and there are few contact marks. I'd agree with MS-65RB. Very nice Indian!

Lovely coin in spite of the spot and the fingerprint that blends in with the brown in front of the face.

IF there's any rub spots on the high points it'll end up as an AU-58. Otherwise I'll go with MS-65.
But I'm not sure about the RB attribute. I think it's more BN.
But please do tell us what PCGS grades it. That's the way I learn.

Thanks for the grades! It is the rare Shallow N reverse, and in this grade, it is very rare. I paid a premium for it in an ICG holder as Indian Hoarder eluded to.
I believe it is every bit of an MS65RB, hoping for a +, but will be happy with an MS65RB. If it comes back at MS64RB, I'm probably even money.
Rick Snow last listed an MS65RB Shallow N 1871 at $12,500. I believe this one stacks up nice against it. I did own the sole PCGS 1871 MS65RD Shallow N, but it was a RB coin, and if sent in raw, no way would it get a Red designation anymore.
I will update as the grade gets posted.
