A hit means that the coin took a hit and was damaged - which is not a good thing, But I think in may be a small lamination.

Not a Cud, looks like either a die chip or lamination to me.

I'm on team lam for this coin. It is quite small and likely doesn't impact the value, but you could save this as an exemplar until a cent with more extensive laminations comes around.
