It appears to be what is referred to as a "ball serif" mint mark, and for a ball serif mint mark it is right side up,also there is not much of a value difference between the regular MM and the ball serif MM John1
There are three different mintmark styles for 1946S, and none of them are considered 'regular' - all have names. The ball serif mintmark is the least common of the three and is by far and away the most valuable. I will give anyone $10 each for any ball-serif 1946S cent that will grade MS64RD or higher. I pay $1.50 for the other two.
what do you think know? i bought 45 rolls of 46s and just started going thru them. i look for the srtaight egde from the ball down almost like a L it sure looks like one to me and if it is not what mint mark is it ?
