Die chips/cracks/brakes and coin events like contact are common on the 1950's Wheat cent years. They over used the dies and they squeezed every cent out of them. Thus these years had a lot of extreme die wear and other die event s that was common on those years. Common like sand, as they are found on many of these coins.

Good example of die chip(s) in the date--not uncommon in wheat cents from the 1950s.

The 50s were full of them. If you like it keep it, it only cost you 3 cents.
