There's a lot of the last number visible, but I can't be sure exactly what it is. The guy I bought it from had originally written 1952 on the 2x2, crossed out the 2, and wrote in 3. Probably not a 7 but that's the only other available number. Anyone see any definitive evidence one way or the other? 195X Lincoln Wheat cent mint error - off center

Tough call as is. Taking in the height of the undeveloped digit. I'm thinking a 7, because as is, it seems the same height as the five with no sign of the mid section curving inward toward the 5? Thanks, Doug.

Certainly looking like a 3 to me. The clip seems to be affecting metal flow into the die. The top of the number is showing the faintest outline of a curve from the die.
When looking at the PCGS site for comparison, the top of a 2 would be almost perfectly circular but a 3 would be slightly elongated like this one. Plus, the bottom of it near the clip reverses direction back to the east.

I could make a case for a 2 or a 3. Fun!

I posted, early on, that it was a 3 but after looking at them together, not 100%. The last number has been altered, somewhat and makes me question my first guess. Still leaning towards the 3 but I like Coinfrog's statement.

going by the notch behind the number - I'll state with confidence, that this is/should be/possibly be a 3 - maybe. Nice find TB!

Looking at the examples in that spread the 5 with 3 also matches better than the one with the 2

Sounds like the 3's have it! Thanks for all the great comments and detective work on this one. Just something more satisfying to have a date on a coin and this one is just right there.
