It is not a blank. It is man made work grounded.

the grinding marks speak volumes to intentional post mint damage. Why did the person do this damage? We'll never know unless you were there as the damage was done.

Most likely somebody was making (or made) a Magician's coin and used the wrong glue. Somewhere, a poor magician is going to have to buy their own drinks tonight when the trick fails.

Certainly a ground down quarter. Looking at the obverse image - you can see how the metal was moved around to the edge as it was getting its 'grinder shave'

@ Jwest8207: Sorry if you think I want to offense you. NO. Me personally I do not like the expression Thank You (TY), why because we are here by passion of the hobby and to try to help on our best way someone. Your last post here for me is the best : " Learn something " , and this is the best appreciation which could be. I am very happy when I fill that someone is satisfy and no words could replace this. My intention was to tell you that we give you our best of our knowledge. In general is correct and pointed, but as humans we can mistake also, and then we regret that we do not have 'it a better reflection of the facts.
Conclusion: Was far from me to offense you. Why I will do?, Your friend coin, a dealer who want to sell you or find in the wild? do not matter the origin, for me the facts see on the coin matter.
