The letters and numbers on this 1971 Kennedy half dollar seem to have unusual widths or indentations in multiple places. Furthermore, the left serif of the "T" seems to have two points - I'll include multiple angles so you can see it in different light angles.

Is there some die doubling going on here, or is this just the result of a very worn die? Or something else entirely?

Thanks in advance for your help!

After reading hundreds of posts here about identifying people's doubled dies one fact becomes apparent.
The longer the naysayers wait to chime in, the more likely the coin in question is actually a doubled die.
"Dipping" is not considered cleaning...

jbuck, thank you for the welcome!

The more I stare at this coin, the more I wonder if it's just a combination of die degradation, field striking, and double striking. Plus 50 years of wear...

The 1971 JFK has only minor Doubled Dies. Me I like those more for the challenge impose om me. Remember, the Die Deterioration will never split the Digits and the Letters. Normally the E and last T in IGWT will show you if you has one of those minor hard to detect DDO
