Can anyone tell me what makes some of these nickles have the strange lettering on the Ts? Also what makes some of the lettering in five cents so weak? I have noticed this on 2 of my nickles. Thank you in advance for answering all my posts.

don't see anything wrong. but photos are overmagnified and so large they run off the display, and maybe a T has gone missing

Please be more specific about why you think the T's are strange-looking.

I'm going to speculate here and look forward to hearing from others if I am right or not. Much like with Lincoln cents, the region directly across from the shoulder area of the bust can be weak as so much of the available metal is flowing into that part of the die.

VLDS, not an error, just part of the minting process.

Yes, very worn die, coupled with a decent dose of circulation wear.

Weight? If under weight, it can affect the strike. The fields are showing extreme die wear disturbances of the dies.
