Hi All,

This coin has an indentation that might be a strike through.... but it also could be post mint damage. I can see a wavy image of the letters inside the strike area, which is similar to a coin that I had graded by NGC in the past, which was confirmed to be a strike through. This one is on the edge so I am not sure if that makes a difference or not. I have included an image of the War Nickel as well as the War Nickel edge. I also have included an image of my confirmed strike through penny for comparison. I welcome your thoughts...

Damage to the coin in the first 2 images - notice how the coin is now out of round and bulging by the indent.
Why do you have an image of a NGC graded cent when you have questions about a silver wartime nickel?

The penny is just to show the same waviness.. if that is even a word. So that I understand.. If this was done during the minting, the edge would still be prefect even if an object was in the striking chamber on the edge? I have many of these to go through and I don't want to waste a lot of time and energy questioning every one. Thanks for the advice.

I'm thinking this is post-strike damage.

Oh, ok, that make sense (in a way) But the cent shows either a fairly nice lamination or a strike through. and the cent is still circular, where as the nickel is not circular. it got crushed somehow after it left the mint, which cause the metal to 'blow' outwards away from the center of the coin.
Can't much more about this nickel because you failed to provide a full coin image of both sides to analyze.
