Just opened the first roll of my late fathers pennies. Started with the 1955 roll. Sadly they are all brown in color. The other rolls appear to be AU. Have found this coin and a VV DDO-010.( more on this coin later). Is this a lamination error? Has two big cracks like this, one being in the hair above. It appears to have heavy polishing on the neck, up behind the ear in to the hair. Since I haven't mastered close up pictures ( which is raising my blood pressure.a nice way to put it lol) I am unable to post the DDO-010 at this time. I think my picture issue is the type of light bulb I use. Does anyone use a 5000k bulb? Is that what I should use? Have used 5 different light bulb types and my head is about to explode from frustration. Any pointers on this would be greatly appreciated. My phone is a Samsung galaxy S10+. It takes awesome pictures of everything but coins it seems So back to the coin. Is it lamination?

Which stands for? I looked in the coin acronyms site I saved, but did not see RIDB listed.

Retained interior die break. In this case, also known as a cracked skull.

The 50s were loaded with them. They ran the dies back then till they almost fell apart. Nice find, some people collect them. If you like it save it, it only costs .03 cents.

RIDB it is the right attribution. For more, this it is attributed to the planchet proprieties during the strike.

Value? I like well-defined cracked skulls. I'd pay 50 cents for that one--if I saw it in a curiosity tray at a coin show...

Thanx again all. Thanx Silviosi for that info. Nice to get those little tidbits. Will try to retain that

Here are what the folks above are telling you about. Yours is not listed but do not think it's an RIDB, it's not that far along and does not have the cracks meet, full circle, anywhere. Just a cracked up skull but very cool! Link for RIDB's. http://cuds-on-coins.com/lincoln-ce...k-1909-1958/

Me I understand what MAKE say. From Cuds it is OK, but here we have crack locally planchet due to the strike. So how we can attribute?

Q MAKE: Quote: They are just die cracks. On those coins you are the specialist, not me. Me I see Die Crack up of the head circle. Then I see incuse planchet crack till eye and also not sure what it is something strait line WWWN to EEES (this must be a circulation? I can not see)
