That depends....
1. How many you have now 2. How often, in what quantity, & time frame do you hoard

Some time ago I convinced a friend to start saving as many of those Bicentennial Quarters as possible. Not to long ago he had thousands of them and I had several hundred of them. WHY? As a joke we were offered $0.24 each. Made us both mad. After about 30 years of that they ended up in a bank. My suggestion is you'ld be better off hoarding lockable auto gas caps. With the economy the way it is, people will be stealing gas from cars.

If you don't have a quick way to sell it (i.e. a local scrap dealer) then I'd just cash em in Besides it's better to invest in other metals. Large steel frame with multiple lead projectiles for instance

OK. So far it's;
Go to the bank and cash 'em in, then buy a gun and guard my gas tank.

 Well, don't worry yet--it's not like 1973. We currently have a glut of petroleum...tankers are idling full outside ports because production has outpaced demand. Not peak oil...yet.

Quote: Not peak oil...yet. Technically, peak oil means the time when oil production is at their highest, and then oil production from that country drops off every year after that. If I'm not mistaken, our peak oil was in '72 or something... Venezuela in 2002... Demand isn't up because no one has the money to spend on petrol anymore! Quote: buy a gun Yeah! But sadly the one I want costs more than an UHR and isn't California legal... But on the bright side, it will sorta completes my German set!

I will never understand people that are hoarding these. Not worth the time to me or the pain to sell them.

My philosophy is, "if you need heavy equipment to move your hoard, then you have too much."

Dump them! The space to store them is outrageous - by the time you have enough to make some serious cash, gas will be 25/gallon and dinner out will be much more.
With all of the money being printed, IMHO, inflation will have eaten up the return you make o nthe cents when you sell them 5, 10, 15 years down the road!

You might know a little bit about me if you know where this comes from but it makes sense.
Now I don't know but I been told it's hard to run with the weight of gold Other hand I heard it said it's just as hard with the weight of lead
