Got this Nickel at a coin show a few years before COVID, paid $20 for it and the dealer I got it from had "Real?" Written on the 2x2. So I was wondering if it was real? It weighs 5.0 grams, the struck through side has some metal flow lines, and I think I can see some remaining roller lines. The date might be 198x something, but IDK. Thanks!

Very nice find. I would give it a 100% pure acetone dip and put it in an Air-Tite capsule.

@Westernsky, it was from a coin show, not from circulation.

Thanks everyone!

Correct term: Struck through a "Capped Die." This one is a later capped die issue. Note the capped die is thinning and the design is starting to show through the capped die die.
Capped Die:

Earlier Capped die strike will show the design on the capped die from the reverse:
Nickel-Struck-Through-Grease-Unidentifiable-As-Of-MM-And-Date
Later will show the outline of the die coming through the capped die:
Nickel-Struck-Through-Grease-Unidentifiable-As-Of-MM-And-Date
On this one, more than one capped dies bonded together.

Thanks Coop!

Might send it in for grading later this year along with a few other coins but I will wait and see.

Thanks everyone!
