Like the title says, I found a 1909 VDB in a parking lot. You can see from the picks it was obviously run over, if the scratches weren't there this coin would be in very good condition. I guess I was a little late finding it, lol!

Nice coin for a street find. Not as damaged as many road rash coins.

WOW! Impressive. No matter what, that's still a 114-year-old coin that has somehow survived in circulation (or else recently been put back in circulation by somebody dumping/sneaking into a collection)!

My dad recently got a 1920 cent in his change, and gave it to me because he knows I collect wheat cents. But that's nothing compared to an '09 VDB!

Congrats on the find.
Was there a coin store in the area you were visiting?

Very Nice Eatabvr! I get wheat pennies from our local bank here alot, so far oldest being 1920's.
1909 is a good one!

The scratches are fairly fresh, So I wonder if it was recently dropped (did you find it outside of a coin shop?)

Didn't find it near a coin shop, I found it at a dilapidated strip mall in the parking lot between a Dominos Pizza and a Chase bank. I just realized I got my 2009 A #3 $100 note (LH 00000003 A) from that same bank. What are the odds, lol.
