Hey, sorry I don't have a full picture of the quarter at the moment but was able to use my microscope to take a picture of GW's mouth. I keep hearing people talk about a drooling appearance. This doesn't look like that but does seem odd. This quarter is not in good shape so it isn't worth anything. I am just curious if this is a printing error or just damage after the fact. Thank you, as always!

Coins are not printed they are minted. Not sure what's going on with the mouth.

People who don't know what an error or variety is trying to make a fast buck from people who don't know what a common die chip is. Absolutely no premium for this.

Someone coined the phrase "Drooling Lip" for this Die Chip. I have many of these laying around in various stages. Was hot when they first appeared on ebay and some sold for over $50 bucks. They cooled off now that most understand they command no real premium. This doesn't stop folks from selling them for a couple bucks on ebay with a few unscrupulous listing them for $200 right now. I'll be spending mine to refill my 5gal jugs for my water cooler, lol.

I've seen a bunch of people call errors 'printing errors' - anyone know the origin of that incorrect term? I imagine it's the Youtube/IG channels that care more about clicks than accuracy.

I apologize for calling it a printing error - that is my lack of knowledge. I literally just started trying to understand coins and how or what can make them valuable. I don't always know the difference between a "mint" error and in my mind, I called it a print error. I get upset when people make me feel bad for not knowing the appropriate terms. I don't rely on ebay and what is posted as I know people are just trying to make money. Mine will be going to the store as well. Thanks for all the feedback. I now know what a die-chip error is and not to say printing error.
