This has been severely cleaned, which accounts for the shiny color.

Not a plus for this coin. I agree it's been harshly cleaned, damaging any numismatic value to may have had.

I'd call that a Cleaned Cull. A common date LWC in this condition has no premium. Now if it were a 22D, 23S, 24D or 26S I'm sure it would sell for a few bucks on ebay.

Yes, a cleaned, well-worn wheat cent--not that uncommon for earlier wheats. I've come across a few hundred over many years of searching rolls and bags. Many will develop interesting toning.

Does the reverse look the same?

A "gem" uncirculated coin is a coin still in "new" condition. This coin is definitely not one, just a circulated Wheat cent that has been harshly cleaned.

A Ford of pennies? Probably better than a Buick of pennies.
