Just general info.

I went to the following website:
https://presidentialdollarguide.com/rev ... l-dollars/

I saw a popup for coinadvisor.com saying I could get a 2023 RedBook for 3.00.

I am usually cautious about this type of thing.

I searched online for "coinadvisor scam" in a search engine and found coinadvisor seems to be legit.

I made an account as they asked (no credit card number etc. or I would have been out of there). used the code "2023" when asked and the order said a total of 3.00. Paypal and done. All the while I was doing it it seemed to be secure sites and legit.

So I paid 3.00 and...it got here today :D

BTW - I suspect they can do this b/c creating an account they get your email address and so sell that to advertisers which makes for spam in your email account.

...meaning SPAM in my email...or does it?

Clear back in the 90s I made what I call my spam account on hotmail. Every time I want to register to a website, the site gets the spam email account address. When the site asks, I input my name as Marsha Nalien (get it). I only visit that spam email address once or twice a year to wipe it clean.

I also don't have a cell phone (by choice!) so sometimes the sites won't let me continue to register. So I use a landline phone number I had in the 70s and it allows me to register.

Wow, that sure sounds like a good deal. With PayPal you should be safe, but you're right, there's probably a wrinkle in there about selling your info. Oh well, that's what spam filters are for; it's not like your email address isn't already in 10k databases.

Got here no problem! Fast shipping. Not bad for 3.00. Ordered on Feb 28 and arrived March 4th.

Hope it can benefit others here.

The old spam-catcher alternative email gag - very sneaky! I also use one of those and recommend for others. Sounds like a great deal. Thanks.

Looks like they are doing it again - offering the 2024 Red Book this time right now for only $3 total shipped for those that might want to update their copy if you didnt take advantage last year. Can use this link to see the pop up for the deal: https://presidentialdollarguide.com/

I didnt find anything 'off' ordering the book (its coinadvisor) and using paypal. The account I had already with them just gets occasional emails with offers/deals so more likely looking for new customers to send deals/offers to. You dont have to check the phone texts at any checkout and would then get shipping info instead to email (or via their site) I found. They also seem to use typical cookies and what you browse on their site to help target potential marketing but that seems to be case with many online sellers. The last email I got from them for example was for this fuji 4 coin silver eagle set and some graded/special label ases mostly. https://coinadvisor.com/2023-fiji-t...raver-series

Sometimes, when an email address is requested and I feel that it is not for validating me or anything like that I use the following address:

Username@domain.com - and it goes through and I don't have to worry about spam emails.

I've used that address for years, I sometimes wonder if somebody actually created this and now gets tons of emails....
