Would I think this is chipped planchet error. Would that be why the edge is normal on the flat side?

In focus front and back and side photos please. It would be called a straight clip planchet, or incomplete planchet.

Looks like a straight clip but sharper photos needed.

Initial thinking is 'straight clip'.

Really need better images that are in focus, also can you post up an edge on image (in good focus)

But it could be a straight clip.

Images of the whole obverse and reverse might tell the tell. Thanks, Doug.

It does look perhaps like some Blakesley effect (weak rim) opposite the clip. You may want to give this coin an acetone soak to try to remove the "stuff," for lack of a better term, caked on the reverse.
