to the CCF We need a photo of the obverse. So far I see a corroded ground find nickel of indeterminate date.
Take a look at my other hobby ... http://www.jk-dk.art

I see a loop on the R so quite possibly it is, but will need better images to tell for sure. Need date, weight, and closeup of the R

I think it is a 1946 going by his other post. The R looks like damage to me not a Henning mark. John1

Definitely the proper shape of the R. No evidence of the die crack. If you zoom in on the 'O' in 'OF AMERICA' you can make out the flat spot at the base. The 5.18 g weight is well within the weights of the 'looped R' Hennings. Another indicator is the mushiness of MONTICELLO and FIVE CENTS with the 'S' in CENTS weak to almost missing. If it's 1946, you have a difficult to find year. Worth getting excited about.

Yes. The markers are there for a Henning.

hey Deb! thanks for the support here. I too, believe it is a Henning. I wish the OP would post up some better images of the date and the 'R'

No prob John! When you're right, you're right! Flkas: Couldn't have said it any better. Thanks! Quote: Definitely the proper shape of the R. No evidence of the die crack. The corrosion is interesting - weren't a bunch of these dumped in a river?
