They don't appear to have sold many (or any?) coins and haven't sold anything for over a year. I politely let them know that it's fake. I'm wondering if their account got hacked.

The current price is less than 50% of Greysheet. That would make me suspicious.

Seller responded a bit belligerent. Typical.

If you have enough evidence or information to validate your claim forward to ebay to prove your case that the coin is fake, than contact ebay or even bidders by sending them a message. May I ask why you are saying that coin is fake? May help others and myself to recognize such things. If not, I do understand.

Reno, despite the poor photos supplied by the seller, it just LOOKS fake. If it were authentic, better pics would be posted to maximize the final sale price. Also, ebay does not allow you to contact bidders (for many reasons). Bidders are kept anonymous.

Gotcha thanks. I looked at the pics and the coin didn't look good to me either especially the first pic.

The mint mark is wrong, many broken letters on reverse. The date is too small in relation to the base but you can't tell much from such blurry images. I also received a belligerent sounding reply.

I actually found the coin on the fake coin seller site for $2. The date is the dead giveaway. Oh well, caveat emptor.

Besides all the things actually wrong with it. It does have that "fake look" to it. The way they're typically made to look worn naturally with the light and dark areas. That's literally one of the giveaways.

It's been removed. But now we have no seller name and no image, we don't even know what the coin was.

Thanks. Seller name reggieh2486. Coin was an 1861-O half. Sorry, but my old brain is just horrible at posting photos.
