1963 Roosevelt dime Graded By SEGS Light Cameo Double Die Reverse DDR FS-017...was the title. Is it that they don't trust SEGS? Not sure why it was flagged and removed ...this was given as a trade to me...any thoughts?

It wasn't removed because it is a counterfeit, it was removed because it is in a holder with a numeric number from a grader that is not on their approval list. You can relist it by either removing it from the holder or blocking out the PR-66 grade.

Thanks Jimmy.
Seems silly...but I will cover the grade and relist.

ebay only recognizes NGC, PCGS, ICG, and ANACS slabbed coins. Personally, I'm skeptical about ICG, but that's just me.

After covering the numeric grade list it as a Gem+ Proof. Do not note a numeric grade in the description or anywhere else and you should be fine.

Do not list SEGS in the title or "certified" or anything similar. Quote: Seems silly...but I will cover the grade and relist. Not silly at all, I've seen xf coins listed as ms64 in some "third world" slabs.

Personally I see nothing wrong with listing this SEGS attributed coin . It is what it is .

Thanks for all the advice. I re-listed as uncertified, blacked out the grade on the picture and made no mention of any grade or grading company. I listed it for $5 opening bid and don't expect much. Maybe I'll have to drop the price to melt value next week. When I say it seems silly, it is that ebay is so concerned with this low value coin that is real, just not in an acceptable slab, yet real raw fakes are still being bid on. I assume they have bots that found the mention of SEGS or did someone report the listing? Who knows. Not a graded coin guy for the most part, so I didn't realize SEGS was such a pariah in the numismatic world. I learned something today, so that is a success. Thanks again for everyone's input.

Quote: You therefore must be unfamiliar with ebay's "ungraded coin" policy. I was unfamiliar with that too. ebay canceled my listing, using the replica/counterfeit policy, which caused my confusion. I think if the grading policy was mentioned and linked... I would not have started a topic, I would have read the rule I was unfamiliar with and made the appropriate adjustments. hopefully all in order now.

Quote: ebay canceled my listing, using the replica/counterfeit policy, I think this may be a blanket policy for removing listings. We had another member who had a listing removed for selling a raw coin over $2500.00 that had the same wording. Quote: I would not have started a topic, I would have read the rule I was unfamiliar with and made the appropriate adjustments.
No harm with that, I'm sure there are other members who were unaware of this that also learned from your post.

I viewed your listing and it looks fine now. Quote: I listed it for $5 opening bid and don't expect much. Maybe I'll have to drop the price to melt value next week. You probably will need a $0.99 start with your shipping charge. Never hurts to run it a week and see what happens though.

Quote: To clarify [I] see nothing wrong with Listing SEGS You may see nothing wrong with it, but ebay does, and they are the ones that have written the rules and sometimes enforce them. You can still list coins in SEGS holders, you just can't reveal the grade they gave it. Quote: they were excellent with varieties and attributions. Such information does not have to be obscured.
