Found in circulation, I have never seen quite this pattern or color of (copper-sourced?) green corrosion on a nickel. It is uniform on both sides and edges. Edges are slightly darker possibly from handing? Possible Cud on dome of Monticello on reverse?
Severe post-strike damage. Coin may have spent considerable time buried in moist soil, or at the bottom of a poorly maintained fountain. Not seeing a cud--cuds (by numismatic definition) are die issues associated with a coin's rim.
Cuds are only on rims, so no Cud. Thee rest of the coin has some bad environmental post mint damage. Most likely rescued from having been buried in acidic soil. Metal detector find.
