I'm new to coin collecting and I was just looking through a coin collection and found this 1970 US Quarter
I am curious what the rim in the top left/center and bottom/center right of the coin is that seems to cut through the top and bottom of some of the lettering (ie, Top of "UNITED STATES OF" and bottom of "ER DOLLAR."
I looked online and it seems like it might simply be damage, perhaps from a coin counting/rolling machine
What doubled ear? are you thinking of another topic near by this one in the list?
(eagles have 'ears' but are hidden under feathers.)
But on the reverse of this quarter, the image is a bit blurry (at least I hop it is and not my Eyesite at the moment) and a lot of the detail is lost in this blurriness.
