As some of you may know, I'm primarily a type collector of both U.S. coins and currency. Within my type coin sets, I also do mint, proof and variety sets. While the Buffalo (sorry, hfjacinto, BISON ) nickel probably isn't my favorite coin of the U.S. issues, it is my favorite type set of my collection. I thought I'd share what I currently have. I'm still lacking a few (the 1913 T1 proof, 1916 DDO, and maybe some other varieties), so there's still a bit of work to be done! One disclaimer on the photos; while the reverse pics are quite representative, every darn one of the obverse pics appears a bit dark on the right edge and a bit light on the left. I took all the pics in the same light and with the coin in the exact same position, so I'm not sure what went wrong. Apologies in advance for my bungling, but I wasn't willing to get them all out to try again ... Type 1 PDS. The '13-S T1 is my favorite of this entire set. The toning in hand is absolutely stunning. Type 2 PDS. Proof (T2 matte, satin, brilliant). I really should have at least retaken the photo of the 1937 brilliant proof; the reflections on the coin are pretty bad, and this is the only Buffalo nickel in my set which has absolutely zero toning. Some varieties.

Thanks very much, Hondo and SaturnD51!
@Winesteven, I appreciate the comments. This has been a very satisfying subset of my type coins to work on!

Stellar looking group there hokie! Nice eye appeal in every one of them. That 13-s is my favorite of the group as well. Great strike, nice die state, and attractively toned. A set to be proud of for sure! I think you need a few more varieties though, one of every type

Wow!!!! Beautiful Bison set!!! Although that green sticker on all of them distracts, I recommend taking it off

Thanks a lot everyone, I appreciate the kind words. This subset has been a long time in the making; the one in this set the longest was purchased over 8 years ago (the 1937 MS67), and my latest purchase was about 5 months ago (the 1913 T2 proof). However, I did have several earlier purchases which were eventually upgraded. Quote: I think you need a few more varieties though, one of every type Ty2020b, that's a nice thing about varieties, you can keep adding examples to those for a very long time!
