Hi everyone! I'd like to first say that I am brand new to this group and still fairly green in this hobby so I appreciate any and all help as I continue to learn.

Now, I have a 2008 Philadelphia mint cent that I am pretty sure is doubled die on the reverse but I would like your input. Although I'm a newbie, I have researched and read about doubled dies until my eyes crossed! (I have also watched Coop's videos and they were SO helpful!!) I know many people mistake Mechanical Doubling for actual doubled dies often but I think this one is a true doubled die and I would like your input/opinions.

Wexler only has DDR-002, DDR-003, and DDR-004 varieties listed for the 2008 cent. I believe my coin has some of the die markers listed for the known varieties but the doubling appears to be much stronger on my coin than any of the existing varieties.

See the photos I have attached and let me know what you think!

Thank you all for welcoming me to the Forum and thanks in advance for taking the time to help this newbie learn!

For the most part, I'm just seeing MD on your coin, especially on 'States' and the motto 'EPU'. If you think you have doubling on the columns, you may need to provide a close up of the areas.

Your coin is as mentioned already just Machine Doubling. What you are missing is on the column # 6, the spread on the lower seat area.

Note the spread on the bay. That is the DDR. The other areas are just Machine Doubling. But make a side by side of a normal die and the first images to see if they are the same size as normal or not. The first 'T' on states look wider than normal, but if they are the same size as another coin, then they are not a DDR, but just part of the design. Also do the same for UNITED and let us know what your are seeing there. Make the images cropped at the same points on both sets of images and then make them the same size. Set them over each other to see if they are both the same, or if one set of the devices are wider than normal or not? The more you dig into research, the more you will learn. Seeing is understanding. If you can not edit, then take more images of the same areas I mentioned and I can re-edit them post here. (That way all can learn, as you learn as well)
