Good looking coin IMO! Can't speak for grading! My newbie eyes love this one!

Reed hits in right obverse field hold this to MS-63, I'm guessing.

Agree that the obverse bag marks will limit this to MS-63.

Seems like we all are at MS63. Nice overall looking coin.

Thanks for your replies. You might find this interesting. I was searching for a reference coin and found this 1934 half. This is why I am really clueless. I would have not even sent this in for grading and yet it received the ms65 with a cac stamp.

And into the game comes ccb's unintelligent coin collecting ignorance, question of the day..... What's a CAC sticker? I mean I see a holographic green sticker, but I'm ASSuming that's the grading company's "sho nuff" sticker?

For the first posted pics I also agree with MS-63, the bag marks hold it back. Somewhat of a pity; has nice luster, and a reasonably sharp strike.
The slabbed pics of the slabbed reference coin show obvious blotchy toning and the strike is not as sharp.
If both were present to me for purchase, I would pay the same price for both, at MS-63. Probably would choose the MS-63 coin graded by all of us.

The PCGS coin has a decent strike, great luster under the blotchy toning, and very few bag marks (although admittedly hard to tell for sure through the toning). The toning definitely affects eye appeal and value, but it doesn't affect the technical grade of the coin. That might have been a good one to send for conservation before grading.

Wouldn't the OPs coin qualify for FH (Full Head) designation even with the bag marks? I feel the original coin might go MS64 FH even with the bag marks.
And is the original coin already slabbed? It looks to be in a holder. (Maybe ANACS)
Words of encouragement are one of the major food groups. We need to consume them regularly to thrive and grow.

w/zurie on the slabbed half. also it is possible a coins toning may change after its slabbed. I would never pay even close to retail for this coin regardless of the CAC sticker too much flash/lighting on your coin could be hiding anything on the surfaces. taking your photo at face value. MS63 maybe 64 since it appears to have to full luster.
