1974 D Cent - Lamination Crack ? - Coin Community Forum

Smattingly New Member United States 14 Posts	Posted 04/21/2023 2:37 pm I know this coin has seen better days but I'm wondering if this is a lamination crack I am seeing on the reverse or is it just PMD? Also curious about the area that appears scratched and indented at about 4:00 on the reverse. I am almost positive that is PMD but when I flip the coin over the same exact spot on the obverse (~1:00 on reverse) is distorted so I wasn't sure. Dearborn Moderator United States 97824 Posts	Posted 04/21/2023 3:24 pm 2 different laminations on the reverse, the big one in the middle is a retained lam, the other one (in the nice red oval near the rim look like it was missing the lam before the strike, You can see the weak strike on the obverse in the same location.
