It just now occurred to me via the comments section that I have not set aside the 2024-P or 2024-D for my collection. I've seen them, but have been so focused on the 1939-D and 1943-D that it slipped my mind.
Most recent article on the internet states that the mint had not revealed an additional 20 million 2024 P nickels have been produced in November. However, the lowest mintage in decades for the Denver remains at 32 million total, hence the hefty price tag for rolls on ebay for 2024 D. But who is to say that the Denver mint will not produce a last-minute allocation, popping the balloon. Let's wait and see.
7 months since my last hunt to the day, I finally found some time to dig into these nickels that I got back in December 2024. Below is the chart, some pics, and a link to the video. Still no 1939-D or 1943-D. I have 15 boxes left and am determined to plow through them before the end of March which will bring my total number of nickels searched to 300,000.
