I call these crumbled rims they are akin to a
Cud. This particular example is a Leone 5F variety. Later die stages of this variety all have a quite large rim
Cud appearing at 10K. It is also a re-punched date best seen within the 64 digits.
See this reference to the 5F variety in a late stage showing.

A reverse of the same variety that shows the various die cracks really nicely, also note the large rim
Cud on this example, not on Dearborn's example - yet:

An early Die State similar to Dearborn's example:

A quite late die state to show the
Cud forming at 10K position, mine has a filled die (probably grease) obliterating the date and other design elements on both sides (only obverse shown here):

A really rare example of this die pairing, can have a misaligned clash of denticles on the reverse, I have not found an example in the wild yet and the ones I have run across are expensive so I've not got one - yet...

You know me always one to chime in on a neat
Two Cent variety, hope you all enjoy the photos, these are from my photos I've been re-shooting for use in my
Two Cent Variety Database I'm building, only these are 1/3 smaller for use on this forum.
