As I was making my local bank visit for more rolls etc, my favorite bank teller showed me a cent she pulled out from one of the rolls she opened up for disbursement to customers- it was a 1980 LMC with a deep golden yellow tone to it.
I'm going to take pictures and post them here tomorrow, but in the interum, does anyone have any knowledge of any 1980 Lincoln cents being made the same as the 1983 etc brass cents etc?

The so-called 'brass' cents of the 80s and 90s are the result of zinc planchets falling into the molten copper used to plate them. This practice did not come about until zinc cents were produced. It is most likely that any bronze or brass composition cent that has a yellow or gold color was either plated or was exposed to chemicals to alter its color.
