@pacificoin, do you have anything specific to suggest that CIII's effigy will not appear on Canadian coins or banknotes? I have heard rumblings but that's all. I have no strong feelings on the subject.

It's now May and no Charles on any RCM releases yet. Not sure why they haven't got their act together I find the coronation medals that CC&C issued to be quite unattractive and not a good representation of Charles and Camila.

We are not allowed to get Political here and I won't . Will just state that all you have to do is look at who is currently In Ottawa and what has happened to our Banknotes since 2015 and leave it at that and let others form their own opinions . My personal opinion on this subject would be quite controversial and since I love everyone, do not wish to get cancelled on this Excellent forum !

I couldn't wait for the Canadian mint to produce King Charles' coin. I bought his first effigy from the British mint. It's a part of history that I wanted to have a memory of. It's not because I'm particularly fond of the king. Having watched The Crown put me in the loop as to how the Royal Family works. Good watch! I recommend that series to anyone that is interested in the Royals!

Ummmm.... Canadian Coin and Currency has released MEDALS that look like coins with KING CHARLESIII approval. I don't think these medals are from the RCM. I have seen the medals on CC&C site and they are now reducing the prices but they have no monetary value on the coins at all.

@jess1234 The netflix show The Crown is filled with fiction. One cannot believe everything you see on TV, in a series or what the MSM prints.

@New1954 Of course movies and shows are made to entertain, so one obviously expects alterations and exaggerations. To my knowledge however, the fundamentals of The Crown are grounded in truth. If you sat through the whole, very long series, then you must at least agree that it's a good watch?

Quote: Seeing the Canadian Coins and Currency pieces makes me wonder if the Mint will be striking KCIII medals for free distribution to schoolchildren like was done for QEII at the time of her coronation? Great idea! Something like the 1977 Ontario medallion https://en.numista.com/catalogue/ex...ia43770.htmlwould be perfect in the "card" holders the RCM uses for circulation sets.

The site was insanely busy today, so I left it alone after some frustration. Later this afternoon I was able to order the two silver coins. The gold pieces are just too pricey, and the $200 is sold out as well. Being only a Gold level Masters Club member, I never saw a notice. I have the orders now marked processing, so all is good.

Just too much new collector Mint product for the market to absorb. If the RCM keep doing this, they will kill the goose that laid the golden egg. I switched off from new R AM NCLT collector mint product more than 10 years ago; just too much. I was forced to sell off this sort of material at near bullion prices in the secondary after market.
