I recently bought a roll of 2000p Sacagawea dollar coins and was wondering if that would make them uncirculated? They were marked directly from treasury depth, and they appear to be slightly DDO

What did the wrapper look like? Where are you seeing doubling? John1

The roll was white with I think brown writing that said direct from treasury depth. Anyone could tell it was a old roll

Sounds like it was from mint so the coins would be considered unc.. Also look for spike in eagle and cheerios type tail feathers.

There are several different known errors for this coin, it would be worth it for you to examine these closely and get to know the websites that can show you the varieties/error possibilities. They are Uncirculated, so they already got that going for them, which is nice.

Note the direction of the affected areas. Machine Doubling on the devices will be in any direction. On this coin it is on the motto area on the left side of the devices. On the date area the Affected area is on the right side of the devices. (towards the rim direction) That is die wear on the right side of the date devices. On the MD and DDD they are from two different issues. MD is a striking issue. DDD/extreme die wear is a die wear issue. Neither are a doubled die. The die was a normal die. If it were a doubled die, then the devices would be enlarged on the center areas of the devices. Note on the motto devices? Note they are reducing the size of the devices, making them smaller than normal. DDD/die wear enlarges the devices in the direction towards the rim. But again this is not from hub doubling. If this coin would be a DDO, then the hub doubling would be seen on the central areas of the devices. Note the listings on V.V: DDO-001:http://www.varietyvista.com/14%20SB...9PDDO001.htmDescription: Medium spread and extra thickness on LIBERTY, stars, date, IN GOD WE TRUST, hair in the knot, collar, and mintmark.Note the eye hub doubling. Note the distortion of the other devices? DDO-002:Note how the devices on this DDO enlarges the stronger on the eye area? http://www.varietyvista.com/14%20SB...9PDDO002.htmDescription: Light spread and extra thickness on the left four stars, mintmark, and Left collar. So if you look at the outside edges of the devices, that is where you will find Machine Doubling and die wear on the devices. Look at the centers. Loo for distortion on the devices. (making the devices larger in size) Looking on the wrong areas of the devices will show the die events and striking issues. The doubled dies will show enlargement of the devices in a distortion, enlarging way. Note there are very few doubled dies on this series. This is where side by sides will show you what is going on with the coins you are seeing. CoopHome: What to look for on the President Dollars for die varieties? Distortion and enlarging of the devices on the central areas of the design. Machine Doubling and Die wear ( DDD) is not a doubled die.
