*newbie*

So I found this really pretty coin in a roll. I'm super bummed by the scratches. Boo.

My questions.

1. What is that blob on the 9 on the mint year?

2.The color in the pictures are true to color. Would it be a R/B or R?

3. This coin is super detailed and pretty could it be an SMS?

4. Guesses on grade? Boo on the scratches.

5. Any chance I might get lucky and there be some sort of error? Check it out!

Thanks again

The title states a 1983-D the picture is a 1993-D I'm assuming a typo in the title?

What is that blob on the 9 on the mint year? Zinc bubbles

2.The color in the pictures are true to color. Would it be a R/B or R? R

3. This coin is super detailed and pretty could it be an SMS? no, SMS were back in 1965,66,67

4. Guesses on grade? Boo on the scratches. I'm not that good at grading - (but it sure is pretty lol)

5. Any chance I might get lucky and there be some sort of error? Check it out! Not seeing any error on this coin here

You can go back and edit the title by finding the little radio button that looks like a pencil over a sheet of paper..

That 'blob' could be a minor ding in the die. Would need to see the coin in-hand (and that's not going to happen). Split plating along the bottom step of the memorial? Given the posted pics, the coin would likely fall in the AU58-MS63 range. Would be a nice album hole filler until better comes along.

While the condition looks good on this coin, the distraction marks would bump the grade way down. So its not a gradable coin because it would cost more to slab than it would be worth.
