Blastenpene4 Pillar of the Community United States 959 Posts	Posted 05/13/2023 07:50 am I'll try this again. As a newbie I'm still learning the ropes. I read through the doubled die / Machine Doubling posts and now I'm a bit more confused - complicated subject. This is the current question mark I have - just bought this coin. These are the only pictures I currently have. Note "America" on obverse. Reverse appears to be missing parts of the "O" in One and "C" in cent. I think all the doubling is probably Machine Doubling, except the "E" in cent, as the doubled area seems to be a different shape. Sorry if these are stupid questions - trying to learn about this interesting subject. Report this Post to the Staff

I agree that having a close-up of the letters will be helpful, but in the meanwhile, you should familiarize yourself with Longacre doubling, as this was quite prevalent on this series of coins.
